The name Scimark originates from a combination of the two English words science and marketing. It describes in a concentrated form the activities pursued by the consultancy firm Scimark: "Scientific Marketing" and "Marketing of Science". Scimark is part of a network of consultants and is working both with own and subcontracted consultants. Scimark is a commercial, privately owned, Swedish company operating internationally.

Scimark is built around four business areas:

• Own consulting in marketing, business development and sales.

• Commercialisation of inventions and products.

• Brokerage of consultants especially in the product development and technical problem solving areas.

• Recruitments - Head hunting activities.

Scimark is acting as a consultant in marketing and business development of various sorts of products, including services and ideas on the account of companies. With marketing we also understand marketing intelligence and sales.

We are directed towards marketing issues concerning technologically highly advanced products from particularly the life science area such as biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. In addition, we are also working with other high technology products e.g. advanced research and computer instrumentation and optics. We are working with clients from all countries but are focused especially on companies in Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Denmark for instance when their activities on the Swedish market are concerned.

In a completely different sort of activities Scimark is addressing inventors and product developers directly. We are well aware of difficulties associated with commercialisation of new ideas to make new achievements accessible to a wider audience in such a way that also inventors and product developers are getting their legitimate part of the income associated with successful products. We are pleased to assisting inventors and product developers with our knowledge and contact net.

There are situations of particular sensitivity in which an inventor prefers to be represented by an agent rather than to appear himself. Scimark is assisting also in assignments of this nature.

Scimark is taking a holistic stand towards business activities and we are carrying out our work with both the short and long-term perspectives in mind. Therefore we are attaching a large weight to product development and composition of the product portfolio. Our attitude towards marketing is one of seriousness and reliability and towards the customers of our clients one of respectfulness. Scimark is acting as an intermediary for consultants within most biotechnological and pharmaceutical specialities.

The brokerage of consultants activities is aiming at assisting companies in various activities and particularly with product development and technical problem solving through the engagement of qualified consultants. Financial reviewing is an additional field where consultants often are engaged.

Scimark consultants have different profiles and backgrounds. Some are internationally recognised specialists in their field. For achieving highest cost effectiveness Scimark is always matching consultant competence with the nature and special demands of the mission.

Scimark is also assisting in direct recruitments of personnel in positions within the biomedical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical specialities. We are assisting with recruitments to all levels and positions where specialists with these competencies are employed. We are especially focused on helping companies, in and outside of Sweden, far away from Uppsala - Stockholm with a need for recruitment of competence from this geographical area.
