The Alpha HTML mode
desktop is uncluttered and the commands you use most are close at
hand. (Recent versions of Alpha feature tear-away menus that become
floating palettes.)
Alpha provides lots of options for arranging, zooming, splitting, and iconifying windows. Window and cursor positions can be saved when you close a file. Fonts, tabs, and syntax-driven text colouring are all configurable. We like the default text colours in BBEdit, so that's how we've set up HTML mode (Fig.1).
