| The first song Jimmy Dawkins played was "I ain´t got it" from "kant scheck dees bluze" and after that he played among others "You don´t love me", "That´s allright" and a couple of intense slow blues. Jimmy´s guitar playing was awesome. No one plays like Jimmy. He is his own man. His guitar playing this night was much more up front than on his Ichiban albums, but not as much as on "kant scheck dees bluze". Although he has developed as a singer he still don´t seem very comfortable in front of the microphone- too bad, since Jimmy´s voice matured into a very unique sound which fits very well in the canon of the Jimmy Dawkins blues. |
