My own opinion of this album.
  • Yngwie's best selling album in ten years.
War To End All Wars is a great album with a great variety of musical styles; from classical tunes of Preludium to the heavy tunes of Crucify and in between there are instrumentals like Molto Arpeggiosa that really shows Yngwie's amazing skill and technique and Instrumental Institution that goes back to the early guitar-keyboard interaction of mid 80's Yngwie. Also, one should not disregard the ballad Miracle Of Life which is by far Yngwie's best ballad ever with a very well balanced vocal harmonies and tunes.
The title track War To End All Wars is a song with heavy tunes and Wild One combines heavy tunes with fast tempo - both are great heavy metal songs.
There are less keyboards on this album than usual, which is a pity as Mats Olausson is one of the very best in the game.
One thing that has been drawing some attention is the diffuse sound which is rather poor. Apparently (according to Michael Fuller who mastered the album) both Yngwie and the head mixer Brian Fitzpatrick was very clear of what sound they wanted, which indicates that the final sound was intended.
