The
Krister Mild Bioacoustics
Library of
Wildlife Sound Recordings
One of
Europe's largest archives, dealing exclusively with digital stereo recordings of birds,
mammals, insects, amphibians and environmental atmospheres. The archive includes more than
12.000 different sounds, recorded with the best available DAT-recorders and microphones.
The library offers non-exclusive rights to reproduce the original digital
recordings on e.g. CD, CD-ROM, DVD, radio, TV, video, film, theatre etc.
Birds C. 700 species of birds from Britain and rest of Europe, North Africa, the
Middle East, Central Asia and Siberia. Also a smaller number of digital mono-recordings
from North America and South-east Asia. We have almost anything you may need, including
the beautiful songs of various thrushes, the chattering songs of a large number of
warblers, screaming Red-necked Grebes and booming Bitterns. If there is a need to create a
spooky atmosphere for thrillers and horror pictures, we have a number of suitable hooting
and howling species of owls etc.
Mammals/Amphibians/Insects
The archive holds a good variety of wild mammals (as well as a number of
domestic ones), all European species of frogs and toads, and many different insects. One
may find anything from humming Bumble Bees, chirping grasshoppers and crickets, to barking
Red Foxes and Roe Deer's, grunting Wild Boars and a large number of croaking, jarring and
trilling amphibians.
Other sounds
There is also plentiful of howling winds, rustling leaves, roaring and
gurgling waves, cracking ice-sheets, rumbling thunderstorms, rushing streams and babbling
brooks.
Environmental
atmospheres/Soundscapes
Everything one may need from neutral backgrounds to more intense environmental
atmospheres. These digital stereo-recordings include all major European habitats - also
covering different seasons and various times of the day. The archive also stores
recordings from rain forests of South America and Asia.
Don't let other
archives fool you with old analogue recordings in mono - when fresh digital
stereo-recordings of unsurpassed sparkling quality are close at hand!
The original recordings are
digitally transferred to DAT-cassettes, generally the same day we get your order (but we
can also deliver on CD, Mini-disc, video, audio cassette or open spool). We can also edit,
mix and master wildlife material completely within the digital domain (24bits/96kHz), and
our team can also be hired for outdoor recording sessions for Natural History films etc.
