In Naturbyn you live in small cabins ecologically built with a wonderful view of the Lake Eldan. The cabins are heated with wood and they lack electricity completely; instead you enjoy everything in the soft light from the paraffin lamps.

The wooden heated sauna is right by the shore, waiting for you. Jump right into the lake or use the unique bathroom close to the sauna. To heat the water in the bath-barrel you have to make a fire.

If you want to sleep closer to nature, we have a Lapp-cot with a fireplace in the middle. This cot is softly tucked in among the spruces and you lie comfortably on the ground, close to fire and friends. We also have a wind-shelter for the once that really want to be close to nature and like the darkness of the night. Perhaps "the king of the woods" walk by.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner you all prepare together in the grand "Långhus". The fire, the chandeliers in the ceiling and the view over the lake make the meals into something special.

Långserud is a small village in the County of Värmland in western Sweden. Here live about 700 people. The homesteads are mostly located around the lakes Eldan, Lången and Aspen. There are a school, a country store, a café with tourist information, hotel, sawmill, a community centre (which hold an old school museum), efficient farms, church etc. It's 30 km to the nearest city, Säffle.

Even though Långserud is placed along the big road E18 between Karlstad and Årjäng, the wilderness is apparent. If you go a couple of (Swedish) miles north you will find the nature reserve Glaskogen, with extreme wilderness and an unbelievable system of lakes. We also have a very rich animal life in Värmland. There are for example elks, wolfs, bears, lynx and beavers.
