REPERTOIRE

The music that Oriana mainly sing is written during the renaissance, and in most cases originating from England. Among the composers are William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, Thomas Weelkes, Orlando Gibbons. Characteristic for a lot of this music is that it is polyphonic, each part is equally important, and has its own melody. This leads to the words in the text not being pronounced simultaneously by the singers in the different parts.
