FAVOURITE FORMULAE
All formulae are for 1000 ml of solution,
all measures are metric. The chemicals should be dissolved in 750 ml lukewarm
water in the order they are given. The next should be added only as the
previous is completely dissolved. After dissolving all chemicals, fill
up with cold water to 1000 ml. The weights of Sodium Sulphite, Sodium Carbonate
and Potassium Carbonate refer to the dessiccated substance.
100 g Sodium Carbonate sicc.=270 g cryst. 100 g Potassium Carbonate sicc.=113 g cryst. 100 g Potassium Disulphite=85 g Sodium Disulphite The developing times given are approximate and for developement in a small tank. The developing times I use myself are given in brackets. The films R100 (100 ASA), R50 (50 ASA) and R25 (25 ASA) are produced by Fotokemika, Zagreb, Croatia. Their 35mm equivalents are called KB100, KB50 and KB25.
Kodak D-76/Ilford ID-11/ Foma FV-3
A compensating developer. It can be used also diluted 1:1, then discard working solution after use. Developing time 7-9 min. (Efke R50 6 min, R100 7 min.) Kodak D-76R, Replenisher
After each film developed, add 30ml replenisher. According to Foma 20ml. When the replenisher is finished is the developer exhausted. Kodak D-76d
The developing time is 25-50% longer than in ordinary D-76. Kodak D-23
Developing time 7-10 min. (Efke R50 8 min, R100 10 min.) Efke FR-5
Developing time 7-9 min. (Efke R25
6 min, R50 7 min, R100 8 min.)
WARNING! There are two kinds of Glycin. The common, and much cheaper, is useless for photographic purposes. The more expensive, photographic Glycin is also called Parahydroxyphenyl glycin.
ORWO/Agfa 8
Portrait developer. Developing time 8-10 min. (Efke R50 8min, R100 10 min.) Kodak D-78
Developing time 12-18 min. (Efke R50 12min, R100 15 min.) Mimosa No.3 I
II
For use, mix 1 part of I and 1 part of II with 10 parts of water. Developing time: 12-15 min. (Efke R50, 12 min, R100 15 min.) Discard the solution after use. Foma FV-11
For rollfilms. Developing time in the dilution 1:1 circa 3 min, in 1:3 circa 8 min, in 1:5 circa 15 min. ( Diluted 1:5; Efke R50 12 min, R100 17 min, Forte Portraitpan100 17 min.) Fine grain developer by Herrman
For use dilute 1:9 or 1:19. (Diluted
1:19; Efke R100 15 min, diluted 1:9 the time will be approximatedly 60%
of that.) Discard working solution after use.
ORWO/Agfa 10 I
II
Immidiatly before use, mix 1 part of I with two parts of II. Developing time 10-12 min. Portraitdeveloper. Discard the solution after use. PAPER DEVELOPERS ORWO/Agfa 100
A standard paper developer, that also can be prepared as a stock solution in 250ml water. Dilute 1+3 for use in that case. Developing time 1-2 min. ORWO/Agfa 105
Dilute with 4-5 parts of water. Developing time 1-2 min. Soft working developer. ORWO/Agfa 108 (=ORWO/Agfa 1)
Developing time 1-2 min. Hard working developer. Always use stopbath to avoid fog. Leonar 4a
Soft working developer for warm tones. Leonar 4b
Dilute with 2 parts of water. Hard working developer for warm tones. Kodak D-52
Dilute 1:1. Developing time 1,5 -2,5
min. More Potassium Bromide can be added to achieve warmer tones.
PERUTZ OP-004 I
II
Immidiatly before use, mix 12ml of
I with 240ml of II. Fill up with water to 1000ml.
FIXING SOLUTIONS
