The Svardsjo district is known for its beauty with deep forests, billowing hills and many watercourses. Whatever road you travel to Svardsjo you will se rivers and lakes almost all of the time.

One of Sweden´s most wellknown singer och composer, Lasse Berghagen, has written about Svardsjo "this smiling landscape with glittering water, the mountains and the purple forests. To this place, to this beautiful part of our country, I come as often I can to rest, get up my strength and breathe the fresh air, so full of inspiration".

Two others, to whom Svardsjo has ment a lot - and who have ment a lot to Svardsjo - are the artists Arvid Backlund and Stig Borglind, who both have shown the influence from the beautiful and multitudinous landscape in their paintings and sculptures.

In this wonderful nature you can celebrate midsummer, join different activities, go fishing, go canoing, ride, visit Nysjon´s chalet, where they in summertime live as in old times making butter and cheeze from goats, sheep and cows. You can visit old foundries and also Isala lada, and old barn where Gustaf Wasa, later King Gustaf I, was saved by the farmer´s wife from being caught by the Danish king. Or you can just enjoy yourself for being in such a wonderful place!
